A rare opportunity to acquire a complete set of ten Carimate carver chairs by celebrated Italian designer Vico Magistretti, originally purchased in 1969 and remaining in a single private home ever since.

Designed for the Club House at the Carimate Golf Club, the Carimate chair is one of Magistretti’s most iconic works—combining vernacular craftsmanship with modernist clarity. The bold architectural frame, traditionally in stained beech, is paired with handwoven rush seats, creating a striking balance of warmth and structure.

This set is particularly desirable for its provenance: a one-owner group, acquired new in 1969, offering a rare level of consistency and authenticity seldom found on the market.

All chairs retain their original character, with a beautifully aged patina to the frames and seats that speaks to decades of careful domestic use. The sculptural armrests and generous proportions make the carver variant especially comfortable and versatile—equally suited to dining or statement seating.

Condition

Good vintage condition overall.
Expected wear consistent with age and use, including surface marks and patina to the frames. Rush seats remain structurally sound, with natural variation and ageing. No major structural issues.
